The Health and Wellness Program is an interactive course designed to equip missionaries in wellness and the prevention of disease. Many missionaries live in areas where healthcare is inaccessible, inadequate, or even questionable, so self-diagnosis and treatment can be crucial.
Throughout the Health and Wellness Program, a primary focus is given to how to appropriately communicate healthcare knowledge cross-culturally in order to empower people to improve the health of their communities.
The Health and Wellness Program varies in length from 15 to 18 hours depending upon class size and the needs of the missionaries. Taught by FIA Health and Wellness Director Faye Brown, R.N., M.S.N., C.E.N., the program is available throughout the year, and is scheduled as needed with interested individuals. Those interested in scheduling a course may contact Faye directly at FayeBrown@FIAintl.org.
