FIA In Nicaragua
Assisting Missionaries & National Pastors
Rama Cay is an ancient community in Central America dating back thousands of years. Surrounded by water, the jungle interior is cluttered with elevated homes constructed from wooden logs and grass. There is no public transportation and generator-driven electricity is available for only 8 hours (2–10 PM) in limited areas. The island’s isolation and lack of infrastructure led to overcrowding for the indigenous people group. Friends In Action is happy to partner with volunteers and the Rama Cay to help alleviate their unsanitary housing conditions through community planning and construction. For more than a decade, FIA’s efforts have enabled many Rama to come to Christ. This has led to Rama believers sharing God’s word with their families and other villages.
