Gilbert “Smitty” Smith is an associate with FRIENDS IN ACTION, engaged in supporting the long-term Vanuatu Water Project. His kids introduced him to 1040Visions in Suffolk, Virginia that had involvement with Friends In Action, Intl. This led him to building friendships within FIA that also helped strengthen his personal relationship with God.
Smitty has a background in working with heavy machinery, including dozers, excavators and cranes but has even been resourceful with welding projects in Africa. Smitty has a passion for outdoor activity including hunting, canoeing, hiking, camping, being in the woods or mountains. He is thankful that he can use his God given talents to further God’s word and draw nearer to Him.
