Every Single Piece Is Precious
“It was heartbreaking watching the village woman scanning the rust-colored African dust for each kernel of corn. We knelt and helped her find each precious piece to load back into her sack.” FIA Field Leaders to Africa, Jeremy and Jessie and their children were helping a local pastor with food distribution when the lady lost a handful of corn from the bag gifted to her.
Tears came to Jessie’s eyes at the thought of having to pick up kernels out of the dirt so her children could eat, but that was the situation of this and many other African villagers. Due to water scarcity, corn was truly life-sustaining and every single piece of corn was worth seeking out and taking home. Every. Single. Piece.
The village mother was so incredibly grateful for help and repeatedly thanked Jeremy and Jessie. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to make a life-changing impact on someone. Yet, sometimes it takes more than we think we are willing to give. But it is worth it. It was worth it for the widow who picked up her kernels of corn out of the dirt to feed her family.
“Except a corn…fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.“ John 12:24
Overwhelming Need For Living Water
This month at FIA we invite you to consider the incredible need for both water and Jesus in Africa and Vanuatu. Extreme drought during the dry season and then flooding during the rainy season leads to food scarcity, water contamination, and rampant disease. The incredible spiritual and physical needs that result seem almost insurmountable – except when God intervenes!
Sacrificing To See The Gospel Go Forward!
Many of us are also going to fast from things that will enable us to sacrifice to give more to see the Gospel go forward. We are taking the money saved from fasting from comforts and luxuries to join God in His pursuit of the lost. The money from our coffee, cable, eating out, or an extra day of vacation, can create life change for someone in much more desperate need. What power we have to make a difference! Any amounts given to FIA’s Where Needed Most, Africa, or Vanuatu water projects will be doubled this month!
$20 Where Needed Most
Forfeit buying soda or coffee out 4 times = a shovel essential to completing water projects!
$70 Vanuatu Support
Giving up expanded cable = 30’ of piping to bring water down a mountain to 3,500+ in Vanuatu!
$200 West Africa Support
50 people offering the cost of staying at a hotel = an African well serving 500 villagers!
GIVE UP A LITTLE TO ACCOMPLISH A LOT.

Give up a little to accomplish a lot! Be part of God’s search for precious souls in the deserts and bush regions of the globe!
