The Faith Of A Child: FIA In Bolivia! A Special Request
Young José eagerly eats his warm cheese empanada. His sticky fingers and shy smile relay his gratitude for the resources and teaching available to him at the “El Eden” youth camp.
Our Partner In Action!
Led by FIA’s ministry partner, Pastor Saul, the Indigenous Training Facility hosts children’s ministry events to grow a faith that will “stick” in the lives of impoverished young Bolivians.
Effective Ministry Strategies
In addition to hosting youth at the facility, each year hundreds of new believers come to be discipled in God’s Word. Specific training sessions empower frontline Gospel workers to run youth programming in remote indigenous-only communities in jungle regions.
Children’s Ministry!
One such trainee named Gladys shared, “With more national and indigenous populations intermarrying, children’s ministry is an especially effective means to reach Bolivian communities with the Gospel. This training is so important for us.”
Helplessness Gives Way To Hope
This was the case in José’s community. Hurricane force winds ripped through the village of Avaroa, leaving José’s family’s home without a roof and ruined by water damage. Yet, these conditions led outreach teams to bring physical resources to help remedy the dire situation while opening hearts to the hope of Jesus.
Outreach Pastor Iver Suarez reflects, “It is a very sad season for people affected by the winds. Many are left homeless, but we have been able to pray with them. We bring doctors and many clothes, as well as needed social and spiritual assistance for people in extreme poverty. This assistance opens many to hear God’s Word.”
It was through these outreaches that a children’s ministry worker was able to share the love of Christ with José and his family. José was invited to attend “El Eden,” the youth camp hosted at the training facility. Here, he is challenged by God’s Word.
José eats nutritious meals and snacks, and engages in recreation with dozens of other youth from nearby communities in Northern Bolivia.
Please Pray With Us!
Important additions to the training facility such as solar lighting, housing accommodations, and an expanded recreational area are needed to help pastors more effectively reach children like José, his family, and the surrounding villages.
Help José And FIA Grow!
Just like the melted cheese stuck tightly to José’s fingers, I Corinthians 15:58 tells each of us to, “be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” YOU are a vital part of what God is doing through FIA’s ministries. This month, we have a double call to action – both to give and to “go”.
1. $50,000
Give to FIA’s ministries in Bolivia. We need to raise $50,000 for construction, provisional, and teaching supplies critical for the Gospel to reach more villagers like José in the Amazon River Basin. Your gifts stretch so far to accomplish so much in these impoverished regions.
Would You Consider Giving?
If the Lord moves on the hearts of even 300 people to give $150, we will be so close to being able to fully fund the national pastors’ ministry endeavors for 2024!
2. “Go”
“Go” to see the Great Commission advance. We want to bring a special ask to your attention. While FIA hosts dozens of trips each year and everyone is welcome to travel with us, we have a different kind of “going” in mind.
How You Can Help?
Would you take the enclosed brochure, which details all our ministries, pray over it, and then share it with someone the Lord puts on your heart? Perhaps your pastor, the head of the missions committee at your church, a like-minded friend, or a business with the heart and capacity to give to our ministries? Share with them why you have chosen to pray for or financially support FIA and welcome them to become involved too. Please intentionally help FIA grow by seeking out a new person to be a “Friend In Action” just like you!
